Aircraft tracker to keep firefighters up to speed

Waterbomber Wildfire Tracker is a free aircraft tracker for firefighting professionals and enthusiasts. Developed by Ernst Mulders and powered by ADSB Exchange, this live firefighting aircraft tracker reveals the aircraft used in firefighting operations, including spotter planes and waterbombers, in real time on a live map of the USA.

It’s similar to Flight Radar 24 and Google Flights in its display of flight routes on a live map. However, it also reveals important aircraft information. Available in English and Dutch, the app supports US firefighting operations and can be accessed on Apple devices.

What can it do?

This firefighting flight tracker displays the aircraft icon, altitude, speed, orientation, Sqwak code, ICAO code, and dBFS. It also tracks tail numbers and provides a graphical representation of the flight path. It also sends take-off and zone-entry notifications for areas up to 25 kilometers in diameter.

Who can use it?

This waterbomber tracking tool is available to anyone for free. It also comes with an upgrade for a monthly, yearly, or one-off payment plan. With it, firefighters and plane enthusiasts can view aircraft activity from up to two weeks prior, check the current feeder count in their area, and keep up with local fires and firefighting operations.

What’s special about it?

The app is very user-friendly. Aside from flight and operation tracking, it features notification sound previews, slidable zone editing panels, aircraft list sorting based on reported sightings, mutable notifications, and dark mode support.

A pro tool available to all

The Waterbomber app is a must-have for tracking aerial firefighting assets. Used by pilots, volunteers, and people who live in areas prone to wildfires, it can help inform and reassure the locals in an emergency.
